Tombstone Tuesday - Warren H. Miller and Thelma Tittle Miller

Warren H. Miller was the oldest child of  Colquitt and Amanda Miller.  In 1985, he was buried next to his wife to whom he had been married over 60 years and who passed away about 10 years prior to him.  Warren and Thelma were my grandparents and the parents of my mother, Mary Kathaleen in addition to Warren H. Miller, Jr., and Dorothy Louise Miller.

I remember when they had the store open. My sisters and I were very small then. When we would go visit, Momma (Patricia Ann Weadon) would always remind us NOT to ask for anything! LOL

  2. Well, is there enough room here to say all that could be said about Uncle Warren and Aunt Thelma? Uncle Warren seemed bigger that life. He was born in another century. He was a Mason, a business man, fisherman, hunter, trapper, singer, farmer, pile driver, bee keeper, philosopher, Christian, and much more.

I wrote a report on him in 5th grade. I got to spend a lot of time with him when I was growing up. He used to pick me up after school and take me fishing when the speckled perch were biting. Occasionally I got to go with him and my Grandaddy (RC) fishing. That was a trip!!! Grandaddy didn't want you to make a sound or move. Uncle Warren would be whistling and patting his foot. I knew this irritated Grandaddy and looked back at Uncle Warren...he just smiled and winked. Grandaddy wouldn't take anything to eat, just his pipe and a thermos of ice water. But Uncle Warren brought the whole store!!! We had Pop Cola's, sardines, Jack and Jill cookies, vienna's...it was great!!!

I remember Aunt Thelma as being very quiet, but with a good sense of humor. I remember when she was in the hospital...her legs hurt so bad, you weren't supposed to rub them...but Mary Etta and I did because she asked.
Uncle Warren And Aunt Thelma were truly the salt of the earth.

Wow, Kelly! What great memories. How funny. I could actually see the scene in my heart as I was reading it. Would love to read your report. Do you still have it?

Grandpa (JP Weadon) loved to go fishing with Uncle Warren and Uncle RC.

    Great memories Kelly,
I have so many memories, they were such a large part of my life. The best...waking up to Granddaddy whistling a sacred heart song (that was from across the road..he had a whistler lol)and rocking on the front porch with Granny, waiting for ya'll to com home from fishing. Then there is squirrel hunting, fish gravy, driving Granny to shop, Sunday sings, like I said...so many memories
